Letter from Executive Director, Cate Clark
Dear Club Directors and Coaches,
Thank you for your continued commitment to growing and strengthening the game of field hockey. As the sport continues to evolve at the club level, the NFHCA remains focused on creating meaningful opportunities that support club coaches, athletes, and programs across the country.
Following last week’s announcement, we are excited to share additional details about the expansion of the NFHCA Winter Escape Showcase, beginning in January 2027. With the addition of U10, U12, and U14 7v7 divisions, the event will now provide clubs with the opportunity to involve younger members while continuing to deliver the premier recruiting environment.
Since its launch in 2016, the Winter Escape Showcase has grown into one of the country’s most respected recruiting events, welcoming more than 200 college coaches each year. Held immediately following the NFHCA Annual Convention, aligned with Performance Sport Events; the event connects club athletes to find their hockey home, while supporting the broader development of the sport.
As participation and interest in club field hockey continues to grow, we are also expanding our efforts to better connect and support the coaches and organizations leading that growth. For this reason, NFHCA Club Membership will now be required for clubs wishing to participate in the Winter Escape Showcase.
This step is designed to strengthen the connection between the club community and the NFHCA while ensuring participating programs have access to the education, recognition, and professional resources that help coaches and athletes succeed.
The upcoming membership cycle will open June 1, 2026, allowing clubs to complete the process before Winter Escape Showcase registration opens July 8, 2026.
NFHCA Club Membership is available at both the individual and organizational levels, ranging from $100 to $200 annually. Importantly, to help offset this additional investment for clubs, team entry fees for the 2027 Winter Escape Showcase will remain the same as 2026.
More than simply an event requirement, membership provides year-round value for coaches and their athletes, including:
- Eligibility to nominate athletes for NFHCA All-Region, All-American, Watchlist, and Club Player of the Month recognition
• Eligibility for coaching honors such as Under 30, Coaching Impact, Club Coaching Staff of the Year, Hall of Fame, Lifetime Achievement, and Junior Hockey awards
• Access to a digital Drill Library and Drill Booklets with more than 100 drills
• Professional development through Ready2Coach Clinics, Virtual Coaches Corner, and the NFHCA Annual Convention
• An on-demand video library featuring more than 40 educational sessions
• Networking and mentorship opportunities through the NFHCA Campfire Mentoring Program
• Opportunities to collaborate and serve on NFHCA committees with coaches from across the country
The Winter Escape Showcase is more than a recruiting event. It is an opportunity to bring the coaching community together, support athlete development, and continue building a stronger future for our sport.
