Week 3 Updates – 5/18/25  

The inaugural CCFHL Club Division wrapped up in Dedham, MA at Northeastern’s Dedham Field. Congratulations to all teams who participated this season! 

U14 Division 

In the final day of action we saw two great games for our U14 teams. WCU took on Seacoast with both teams searching for their first win of the season. WCU got on the board first with a goal by Sydnee Montejo to go up 1-0. Seacoast’s Lucy Kellogg answered to make it 1-1. The game was tied up heading into the final 10 minutes of the match before WCU’s Charley Beland gave WCU the game winning goal for the 2-1 Win. 

Game two featured the two undefeated teams, True Grit and Allegiance. True Grit went up 1-0 early in the first half. Allegiance pulled the game within 2 goals to make it 3-1. True Grit would go on to finish the game 6-1 to take home the first ever CCFHL championship.

U16 Division 

The U16 division was one of the most competitive ones, with all teams securing wins throughout the season. Seacoast took on WCU in the first game of the day. After a scoreless first half Kenna Sullivan gave Seacoast a 1-0 lead. Seacoast would go on to score to more goals to claim a 3-0 victory. Game two also saw a scoreless first half, with Strikers and Allegiance playing a lot of back and forth in the midfield. Allegiance scored on a break away to take down the Strikers 1-0. Seacoast and the Strikers were tied with a record of 2-1, but the Strikers took home the league championship with the head to head tie breaker victory. 

The U16 Division was so tightly matched we saw six goal scorers with two goals a piece. Congratulations to Zoe Smith, Sabrina Tibbert, and Angelina Che from the Strikers and Makayla Paul, Kenna Sullivan, and Olivia Amarosa from Seacoast. U19 Division 

The Strikers took down undefeated Allegiance in a tightly contested back and forth match. The Strikers took the lead in the first half 2-0 with goals by Fei Yand-Sady and Kate Francini. The second half saw lots back and forth in the midfield, with each team scoring one goal apiece to finish the game 3-1 in favor of the Strikers.  

In our second U19 match True Grit never looked back going on to defeat Cape Ann 8-0. We saw three multi-goal performances by Madison Funk (3 goals), Lily Haig (3 goals), and Ruthie Collins (2 goals). With that win, True Grit, Strikers, and Allegiance were in a 3 way tie for first with a record of 2-1. With a +13 goal differential Allegiance claims the first ever U19 Title.

Week 2 Updates – 5/11/25

It was a beautiful day in Cambridge for week 2 of CCFHL – Club Division. We saw lots of goals and some spectacular saves from the players. 

U14 Division 

Sunday saw two dominate games by both True Grit and Allegiance. True Grit and Seacoast faced off in match one, with True Grit taking the lead 8 minutes into the game. They ended the half up 3-0. True Grit finished off the game 5-0 with contributions by four different goal scorers. The second game featured Allegiance vs WCU.  Maddie Peterson started off the scoring two minutes into the match and would go on to score three more goals. Four other goal scorers got on the board to help Allegiance to a 9-0 victory. The two undefeated teams will meet next Sunday to see who takes home the first CCFHL – Club Division Championship. U16 Division 

We saw another tight day with Allegiance and WCU facing off again in the U16 age group. WCU’s Riley Cormier scored early in the first half to hold a narrow 1-0 lead heading into halftime. The second half saw Allegiance put on significant attacking pressure but WCU’s goalkeeper Alexis Maeder made some impressive stops to secure the 1-0 victory for WCU. The second U16 game featured the Strikers vs Seacoast. The Strikers got on the board early thanks to a goal by Sabrina Tibbert and was leading 3-0 at halftime. Seacoast was able to put up two goals in the second half, but the Strikers continued their well-balanced attack with seven different goal scorers to finish the game with an 8-2 win. U19 Division 

The final two games of the day featured our U19 Division. Allegiance continued their dominance with a 5-1 victory over True Grit with four different goal scorers. The strikers also put on a solid performance to claim a 3-0 victory over Cape Ann. Allegiance and Strikers will battle it out for first place next week in the 1pm matchup. Week 1 Updates – 5/4/25

We were excited to get week one underway of the inaugural College Connected Field Hockey League (CCFHL) – Club Division. Overall, the weather held out and we saw lots of goals and great saves by teams.  

U14 Division

Allegiance and True Grit led the charge with wins the opening weekend. Allegiance was lead to a 7-0 victory over Seacoast by Maddie Perterson with a hat trick. True Grit’s 3-0 victory over Worcester County United (WCU) was a team effort rounded out by three goal scorers. Check out the U14 Division’s leading goal scorers below. 

U16 Division 

The U16 teams saw two tightly contested matches between four great teams. Game 1 between Seacoast and Allegiance went back and forth until Seacoast’s Anna Williamson broke the stalemate in the second half. Allegiance answered on a well-executed counterattack where Margaret Baldwin finished one on one with Seacoast’s keeper. Seacoast was able to fight back, and Makayla Paul scored the go-ahead goal with three minutes left in the match to take home the 2-1 win. The second game saw the Strikers take on WCU. The Strikers put together a great team with lots of earned attack penalty corners. Zoe Smith and Angelina Che were able to connect on two of them, giving the Strikers the 2-0 victory. U19 Division 

The U19 Division saw repeat clubs excel with both True Grit and Allegiance bringing home victories. The first game True Grit walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Strikers. Boyle sisters Maren and Molly combined for three goals. Junior Molly Gould rounded out the scoring. Game 2 saw Allegiance put on a dominant team performance to earn an 11-0 victory over Cape Ann. Scoring was led by Kate Schneider with 5 goals, followed by teammate Jordan Higgins with a hattrick. Check out the U19 Division’s leading goal scorers below.
